Hi, I came across an article on tweaking your hard disk from 16 to 32 bit mode on LinuxNewbie.org...
"Some Linux distributions aren't optimized for your specific system, so tweaks are necessary. I run RedHat 6.1, and here is how I sped up my disk speed by enabling 32-bit I/O and DMA on my system." Forget the RH mention... But I don't know about data coruption here. What are the risks with a system a year old? ie New U-DMA hard disks, etc. Thanks, Jonathan
