Thanks again for the reply. :) I tried the command you suggested for a text file and for a .ps file:
# lpr -Plp4 test.ps # lpr -Pascii <file.txt) ...and both times got the same error message printed on the page: Unknown device: escp2 , then the page hangs and I have to press the sheet feed button. I had to revert back to 2.1 (from a tarball backup) so I'm currently running apsfilter v4.9.7-5 and gs-aladdin v5.50-3.
