hi! i just found out, that i've accidently erased all the contents of /var/lib. the machine works almost fine, but what exactly am i missing at the moment, besides that i cannot use dpkg ? is the only option to fix this to re-install the distribution? or can somebody tell me the normal subtrees of /var/lib and i might be able to fix it manually?
undeletion is out of question, since that happened as i was moving debian from one hdd to the other. any help is appreciated.
