You might have BIOS legacy support turned on. This is a basic keyboard-only driver (in a few cases, keyboard+ps2 mouse), that interprets USB keyboard compliant with the USB boot protocol as a standard keyboard in the super IO controller so the PC keyboard controller can use it. There is also a "backport" of the 2.3 USB stack to 2.2.1x that has most things in it (anything for parallel ports isn't, because of some changes at the kernel level) Try doing a web search for "linux usb FAQ" and looking for the backport. > My question is about X.
