ever since i upgraded to 2.2 i've had very sporadic sucess using my floppy disk on my thinkpad 390. sometimes it seems to kinda work but most of the time it doesn't work at all. i'm currently trying to create a boot floppy for a potato resuce disk and getting this error:
heyzeus(larry)$ sudo dd if=/tmp/rescue.bin of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 dd: /dev/fd0: Device not configured and i get this (over and over in the messages file): Mar 25 18:12:21 heyzeus kernel: floppy0: disk absent or changed during operation Mar 25 18:12:21 heyzeus kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 2876 does anyone have any ideas? adam.
