My suspicion remains that I'm simply passing the parameters incorrectly when the install, or any other program asks for them. I tried the alt-F2 to get a terminal. I was still unable to do the install. Getting basically the same response as below. I am going to take out two cards so that I know I'm using the one and that it's hooked up. I think I might have one of those odd conflicts because the card is a DMA channel card and I'm using an old adaptec AHA-1505v (not completely sure of the numbers but that it is very old - libraries used them when you couldn't get IDE CD-roms). Yet somehow I doubt that because I don't think the chip is one of the 486s mentioned in the Ethernet-HowTo.
