What machine is 192.1.1.25? Is that the machine gateway? If so then is nmbd actually running? It might be configured to run from inetd.conf if it is then check out /etc/hosts.allow and make sure that it's setup to allow connections. I'm guessing nmbd probably isn't running for whatever reason and isn't set up to run from inetd.conf. It could be possible you've got a bad smb.conf file.
