Just to clarify: the above does *NOT* work, as of 1630 MST 02/22/2000. The libc6_2.1.3-4_i386.deb fails to install, with the error 'Couldn't configure a pre-depend'. This appears to be due to it being pre-dependent on debianutils, which is in turn predendent on libc6.
