make sure encryption is turned on an everything. id suggest moving to samba 3.0 if you can, ive found it to be very reliable and quite compadible with win2k. you can get it from CVS. im using CVS from 1-14-2000, running with security set to SERVER and pointing it to a PDC for password auth(nt4)
ive just enocuntered too many small things in samba 2.0 that for some reason or another fixed themselves when i moved to 3.0. nate On Thu, 17 Feb 2000, da Bobstopper wrote: rmarlo >heya's rmarlo > rmarlo >i'm having a problem here with the bugfixed samba for slink (2.0.5a-1 i believe) rmarlo >when trying to connect from a win2k machine. i get the following error when rmarlo >i attempt to connect to the server: rmarlo > rmarlo >Remote procedure call failed rmarlo > rmarlo >the machine is visible in explorer or whatever, but shares are inaccessible due rmarlo >to this problem. is it a known problem that's fixed in 2.0.6 or something? rmarlo > rmarlo >we'd greatly appreciate some help here, since our clients will soon be upgrading rmarlo >to win2k making our linux fileservers unusable. rmarlo > rmarlo >thanks rmarlo > rmarlo >from rmarlo > rmarlo >da Bobstopper rmarlo > rmarlo > rmarlo >-- rmarlo >Unsubscribe? mail -s unsubscribe [EMAIL PROTECTED] < /dev/null rmarlo > ----------------------------------------[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ]-- Vice President Network Operations http://www.firetrail.com/ Firetrail Internet Services Limited http://www.aphroland.org/ Everett, WA 425-348-7336 http://www.linuxpowered.net/ Powered By: http://comedy.aphroland.org/ Debian 2.1 Linux 2.0.36 SMP http://yahoo.aphroland.org/ -----------------------------------------[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ]-- 4:41pm up 181 days, 4:58, 1 user, load average: 1.03, 1.07, 1.02
