Well, I didn't waste much time with the cd as it became apparent that it was screwed but the book really didn't hit the mark either, IMHO.
For the same reasons, I picked up the O'reilly Debian book a few months ago. I just want to say that, like always, O'Reilly hit the mark with that one. The CD is a good version of Slink with some Gnome updates, it install easily and, most importantly, browsing through the book I've learned some things. I rarely feel like buying anything but O'Reilly books for my *NIX needs and their Debian book is no exception. I recommend it to beginners and intermediate Debian users alike. > +----------------------------------------------------+ > | Eric G.
