Hi, I've found nothing the archives (strange). So I've (re)subscribed here:
Since last libc6, locales potato 2.1.2-12, dselect insists to set most packages to remove. I set gconv-modules and libc6-bin to purge but still the same. But what's strange when I now want to leave the 'Select' with <return> I get no conflicts are listed. Nevertheless dselect suggest to still remove lot of packages and installs perl5.004 stuff again. ?? I've suspected a dselect but and tried apt-get install libc6 Better but still lot of things would be removed: The following extra packages will be installed: libc6-dev netscape-base-4 The following packages will be REMOVED: abiword balsa cheops dia eeyes gconv-modules gedit gentoo gfloppy gfontview gftp gimp gimp-nonfree gmc gnome-admin gnome-bin gnome-control-center gnome-core gnome-gv gnome-help gnome-network gnome-panel gnome-panel-data gnome-pim gnome-print gnome-session gnome-terminal gnome-think gnome-utils gnotepad+ gnotes gnumeric gphoto gps gqview gtimer gtk-engines-gtkstep gtk-engines-metal gtk-engines-notif gtk-engines-pixmap gtk-engines-redmond95 gtk-engines-thinice gtkdiff gtkfind gtkfontsel gtkgraph gtop guitar gxedit icepref icewm-gnome imlib-progs libc6-bin libcapplet0 libglade-gnome0 libglade0 libgnome32 libgnomesupport0 libgnomeui32 libgnorba27 libgnorbagtk0 libgtk-perl libgtk1.2 libgtkxmhtml1 libobgnome0 libobgtk1 libzvt2 python-gtk smpeg-gtv ssh-askpass-gnome vim-perl xscreensaver 3 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 72 to remove and 21 not upgraded. 1 packages not fully installed or removed. Looking libgtk-1.2 I can't see what's wrong with it's Depend: line Anyone know how to fix this? For later similar problems: Is there a tools that tells if the dependencies of a package are okay, somehting like dpkg-check -dependencies libgtk1.2 dpkg-check -what-depends-on gconvmodules man -k for 'apt' 'dpkg' 'depend' and 'check' did not help.
