I want to install the newest (1.1.2) VMWare under debian, but i see that they changed the program locations a while ago, so now everything goes on /usr, instead of /usr/local. I tried to run alien on the tgz, but it fails. Is there any way of installing VMWare without screwing dpkg by putting stuff under /usr? I'm using potato.
