When I partitioned my harddrive the HowTo's impressed me with
there suggestion to have a small root and swap partition, and a large partition
to hold programs. I partitioned my hard as suggested. Now I have run into
the problem of having run out of space on the root partition. Can I cp my /usr
from the root section to /usr on hda2. the root partition is on hda4 and
the swap on hda3. I have windows on the same hard drive it is hda1. Hda 2
has over 3gbs of room with nothing but mount point /usr and a couple of
directories with nothing in them.
any suggestion? If I had more experience with Linux I would
just go ahead and do a back up to hda2 and then cp the /usr files to
hda 2 /usr. But I don't think /usr to /usr will
work.
