Yes, if it's a 2940UW it has 3 connectors: an internal wide connector, an internal narrow connector and an external wide connector. It's got an older wide drive, a new ultra-wide Quantam 10k drive, a narrow SCSI CDROM and an old, narrow 4mm tape drive hooked to it and all have worked flawlessly with Linux. My only complaint isn't with the 2940UW, but with the UW spec itself. It's pretty finicky about things like cable-length and termination. Quite a pain to keep it within spec. Adaptec has a decent rep, now, for supporting open-specs on their adapters. Their rep for price/performance isn't so great but if you're picking it up used for a good price there's no reason to be leery of Linux support. Good Luck, Gary
