CVS is a source-code control system. If you're going to use it it needs a directory where it's repository will reside. It isn't a "Debian" thing, it's only needed if you're going to be using CVS for your own projects. The short version is, you could tell it to put the repository anywhere you like, although I'd probably prefer somewhere in /usr/local. Gary
