You don't need more than one computer for domain name registration.  As cyber-#$#$# have shown, you don't need any computer to register a domain.  If you are going to run your own DNS server, you may want to have a backup server or secondary server.  When I registered mine, I went to http://www.networksolutions.com/ to see if the domain I wanted was available.  If it is, register it.  Call your ISP for information about their DNS servers with IP numbers.  This will save you money when registering.  If you register without ISP information, the cost is higher.   Next call your ISP and ask him to make entries in his DNS tables to point to the static IP of your web server.  I would recommend arranging this with your ISP ahead of time so they can give you any pointers you may need.   -paul -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Yang [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, October 28, 1999 10:14 PM To: debian-user@lists.debian.org Subject: YourDomain setup I just set up my apache web server.
