are you using this command: mount -o remount,rw <device>/<partition> <mountpoint>
it should work. since linux mounted it readonly, id suggest running a e2fsck on it (/sbin/e2fsck <device>/<partition> BEFORE the remount. nate ----------------------------------------[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ]-- Vice President Network Operations http://www.firetrail.com/ Firetrail Internet Services Limited http://www.aphroland.org/ Everett, WA 425-348-7336 http://www.linuxpowered.net/ Powered By: http://comedy.aphroland.org/ Debian 2.1 Linux 2.0.36 SMP http://yahoo.aphroland.org/ -----------------------------------------[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ]-- On Thu, 28 Oct 1999, DOUGLAS HUNTER wrote: > I have a problem I have just installed slink but am unable to change root > from read only.
