exim is run on demand from inetd in potato, so it won't show up in ps unless there is an active job being processed. See /etc/inetd.conf. You can have it run as a daemon if you so desire. You'll comment out the line in /etc/inetd.conf, and comment out the "exit 0" near the top of /etc/init.d/exim. Then /etc/init.d/exim start... But, unless you have a lot of mail coming through on a continual basis, I doubt there's any advantage to having it as a daemon. -- +----------------------------------------------------+ | Eric G.
