The latest console-apt has changed the dependency to libapt-pkg2.6. This isn't there either, but is provided by apt 0.3.12, so it will unstall. Unfortunately gnome-apt in potato still has the dependency for libapt-pkg2.5.
You should probably file a bug report on this against gnome-apt.
