> Thanks for your response, For the info of everyone it seems that FTP install > capabilities are not yet a reality for debian. ^^^^^^^ ?? FYI I originally came to use Debian because at the time it was the _only_ distribution that I was aware of that had an option of a complete FTP install. FTP install has been a reality since late 1995/early 1996
This was back at Debian v1.0 (or it might have even been 0.93) and in fact an FTP install is the easiest one of all if your computer is connected to a LAN. Since the introduction of the apt package and the apt-get command, installation has never been simpler. I have installed Debian on about 30 computers since early 1996, my most recent install was last night converting my wifes computer into a dual booting machine. In fact you do not need to use a single floppy! Read the installation manual and documentation and it will tell you how, but it comes down to having a copy of the contents of the disks-i386 directory on the debian archive on your windows/dos partition.
