I use the DNS-servers at my provider (resolv.conf) and have a small hosts file for the couple of local boxes I am running. I will look at my local network more closely. I had to change IP numbers because of the (very) temporary Win98 gateway I am using. I am not sure how Mutt sends a message to Exim. Does is originate from 127.0.0.1, 192.168.0.2, or something else? I suspect it's the latter but I'll have a look at what exactly is defined as local wrt to exim and my home network. Thanks for the reply.
