If I'm not mistaken it sounds like your soundcard is sharing an IRQ with something else. Even though it wasn't listed in the /proc/interrupts my video card was on IRQ 10 and was causing similar problems with my AWE32 (until I changed it to IRQ 5). Occasionally, if a lot of background processing is happening I still receive that error and sound will skip a bit but I assume that is unavoidable (correct?). -- Ashley Clark
