I tried adding, sbpcd=0x230,1 and sbpcd=0x230,SoundBlaster into /etc/lilo.config but got the same result. I tried to make sense of the suggested documentation along with the cdrom and bootpromt HOWTO's and the lilo manual, but apparently Im still confused about this. Could somebody please suggest what needs to be configured and where, in order to circumvent the autoprobing for the cdrom drive. Please send your reply to senders email address otherwise I'll miss it. _______________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
