Sorry I can't be of more help, but I have done same upgrade two days ago and have had no problems with EXACT same packages. My ppp is compiled in the kernel as opposed beign the module. I have been using ppp since the first reboot without any problems. I don't know enough about it, but I installed another package, bootpc_0.64-1.deb, as per suggestions on debian site. My problem is sound... HTH damir
