Perhaps you want: $xhost +localhost (any user connected to your machine can use the current xsession)
The better method is to: #export XAUTHORITY=/home/<user_running_X>/.Xauthority after su-ing (or add to /root/.bash_profile or whatever) HTH Rich M.C.
