Hmmm, Try editing /etc/{passwd,group,shadow,gshadow} manually, (make backups first!) then "cd /home;mv ian iehrenwald", followed by "chown * <on-every-file-with-ian-permissions>" (* == iehrenwald | .iehrenwald | iehrenwald.iehrenwald ).
