Make sure you have lp module unloaded. Use lsmod to list them. To remove rmmod. Also, make sure the kernel has lp services as a module. If lp shows up in lsmod then your ok as far as the kernel is concerned. Just remove lp with rmmod.
Then the new zip drive use a new driver! It is imm.o, not ppa. But try ppa.o first. Use insmod ppa.o, to load it. Make sure the drive is connect. I have the imm.o that works if you need it.
