I've just got sound going under 2.2.3, SoundBlaster 64 [OEM] (how happy am I?!!)
My little mixer controller complained that it couldn't access /dev/mixer, the permissions on which were 660. It's owned root,audio. I put myself in the audio group, but it didn't fix it. If I do "newgrp audio" I'm asked for a password. What am I missing? I get the impression it's a real easy one, but I just can't work it out. For a short term fix I just did "chmod o+rw /dev/mixer", but I'd like to do it properly. Thanks. -- Graham
