Have a look around the web for stuff on using the FBDev server with the Banshee. A similar procedure applies. My solution to getting the Trio3D AGP running: take it back and buy a Riva-128 based card. The Trio3D was attractively priced (about $40 for the 4mb card, versus $120 for the Diamon Viper 330 I have now), but the Riva card is supported and is much faster.
