I think I sound very stupid but I can't figure out why, after a successful
Debian install, I don't have man-pages installed.

I downloaded Debian 2.0.34 from the net (including base2_0.tgz). I made a
manual selection for dselect, accessed, updated and installed it and found
that, although I have a running system, dselect de-installed a lot of programs.

dselect reports for all these programs that it was installed and the present
state is de-installed!

What surprises me is that 'info' and 'man' are among these programs. With the
installation I selected all items with 'documentation', including the man
pagesand the newbie, since I am.

When I execute 'man' the system replies no such program...

I searced the net whether there is a man-page-package but without success.

Can anyone give me a clue to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.
Frank.
