I seem to remember someone last week mentioning that they would like to create a 'dump' that people could write to but not view/retrieve. I might have stumbled across the answer, make the share directory's permissions write execute, and add the line create mode = 0222 in the smb.conf file. This should allow you to map a drive to the share and allow people to copy stuff into the directory but not see and retrieve (kinda like a roach motel).
