-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hey all. KDE 1.1pre2 was released the other day, and I have begun constructing Debian packages of it. If anybody out there is interested, I will make them available for download. I have constructed packages for the basic KDE installation, kdeutil, and kdeadmin. I'm working on kdenetwork now, but there's a problem with one of the Makefiles that I'll need to fix first. I'll make more packages soon.
If you're currently running KDE 1.0 or one of the old beta versions, then you DEFINITELY want to upgrade. 1.1 is much nicer than previous versions in all respects, especially performance. Everything is much snappier than before and looks more professional. I haven't been using KDE much lately, because I love the NextStep look & feel that I get with Window Maker and friends, but KDE 1.1 has got me really psyched. I definitely suggest taking a look at all this stuff. Incedentally, if you're thinking about building KDE for yourself, the kdebase package alone took 45 minutes to compile on my 200MHz K6 w/32 MB RAM. It's quite a task. noah PGP public key available at http://lynx.dac.neu.edu/home/httpd/n/nmeyerha/mail.html or by 'finger -l [EMAIL PROTECTED]' This message was composed in a 100% Microsoft free environment. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2 iQCVAwUBNq+fEYdCcpBjGWoFAQEyGgP/cO4pQPg8McmOcAKEcat15RsNn8f2HoMj SWtfxnR8i20dlN9+p1Z0tmuIcMLIx9YoGOsUa8EKMtgB/fAy9Kuuun8IKnrSm2xA WybyW7JcvZCzcjugnYzpr6whOBnzzHXT1KW8q5oYutnx/EgmENCAENly4CVtpM45 T2NFgLZV/HE= =ysT7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
