Problem with perl and locale

Hi,

  I have made a setenv LANG=fr on my system. Which means some programs
are displayed in French. It works fine but for perl which prints the
following message:

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LANG = "fr"
    are supported and installed on your system.

Any clue to solve this problem ?
