Hi I finnaly did it! I compiled my first kernel!
Everything went (sort of) smoothly except for one thing. I got the kernel-source package from potato (2.0.36) and kernel-headers (is this one necessary?). I also got kernel-package! I made make xconfig. make dep; make clean. and then make-kpgp --revision=0.1 kernel_image it compiles ok but in the end i get : test -f System.map && cp System.map \ debian/tmp-image/boot/System.map-2.0.36 test -f System.map && chmod 644 \ debian/tmp-image/boot/System.map-2.0.36 dpkg-gencontrol -pkernel-image-2.0.36-i586 -Pdebian/tmp-image/ dpkg-gencontrol: error: package kernel-image-2.0.36-i586 not in control info make: *** [stamp-image] Error 29 So i dont have a deb of my kernel, but i got it in debian/tmp-image/boot so everything is ok. I just wanted to know what did i do wrong! Thanks -- Mario Filipe [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://neptuno.sc.uevora.pt/~mjnf
