dying???? It's very close to releasing 1.0, and the volume on the developer's list is at the highest level in the three years or so that I've been following it. The current release is 1.0pre6. Lot's of new features, and a couple of pieces that weren't in time to freeze (mail merge & literate programming [whatever that is :) ]) as contrib's. There isn't much that's commonly needed that isn't supported, and you can toss in any latex you need. The current version of reLyX apparently will import most latex (i've never had a reason to use it). The only things left on my wishlist are either minor, or limitations from latex (getting multiple floating .eps on the same page seems to be a lost cause . . .). But then, i coded in the fixes for my two biggest peeves, so . . . :) --
