Since it is basically working, I thought you just want to stop that
message from appearing. For a qualified statement of what is causing the
error, ask at lkml or a kernel related mailing list. I don't think
debian-user is the right mailing list for kernel related errors.

maybe that can help you? He was able to resolve a similar issue by
updating the Zaurus ROM. Although it was not working at all before.
