You have to edit it by hand and use the kernel module from nvidia-kernel-source. You also need to install nvidia-glx-source and build that. Once built, you need to install the resulting packages, nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel. nVidia made it hard because they won't openly license the specs to thier adapters like other manufacturers do.
