You are right I don't have any mouse use when I am in normal test mode.  I see 
no
white block or anything when I move my mouse.  So, I tried to run gmpconfig as 
root
and it wasn't there.  I searched in dselect but it wasn't listed.  I found it 
listed
under the directory, under "Console utilities."  I ran dpkg --status gmp and 
got the
following:
Status: purge ok not-installed
Priority: optional
Section: oldlibs

I tried to find oldlibs but don't know where it is or how to get there.  I have 
the
Official 2.0 disks.

Can anyone help me configure my mouse?
