Hi there, I just mail to share my expirience during updating. usualy using lynx and than download install from ftp.de.debian.org and always forgotten something on whats depend the package i tried to install i just tried apt-get wow :) for example: apt-get update g++ ; apt--get install g++ will install g++ and all other packages g++ depends on. really great, checking system-integrity also . I often seen dependency problems on this list maybe, if apt-get is more accepted upgrading installing will not must be a nightmare ;)
