I'm having trouble setting up diald on my Linux box. The
problem I have right now, which I haven't been able to
figure out for the last couple of hours, is that ppp0, when
the link comes up, assumes the IP address assigned to eth0.
I just cannot figure out how it gets it! The local IP
address in /etc/diald/diald.options has a different fake
address. (My ISP assigns IP address dynamically.) As I
understand, it should assume the IP address my ISP assigns.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

BTW, the device in /etc/diald/diald.options points to
/dev/ttyS1 which is connected to my modem.

Right now, when I run telnet (for instance), diald starts a
PPP session, but that's as far as it goes. (I do not get to
connect to the remote host.) Eventually, diald considers (I
presume) the link idle and takes it down.

Any help would be appreciated. I would also appreciate any
working /etc/diald/diald.options file for a Linux box that
gets its IP address dynamically from the ISP. I've been
reading the man pages, examples, and the mini howto but have
not found anything helpful in this regard.
