Is there any program or way to look at your video setting while in X - for instance to see what color mode (bpp) you're in (I guess xvidtune doesn't do that...) I'm running an ATI 3d rage II card, but can only seem to use 8 bpp without getting these annoying vertical "lines" of sketchiness on the leftish side of the screen...
