Are you doing this as root? It is not possible for ordinary users to tinker with the selections in dselect. | Also looking at the description of xbase in dselect it said that | xcontrib was a more complete package. Does this mean I don't need xbase | and could start with xcontrib? You need xbase too. There is no overlap, xcontrib just contains many of the utilities that are very common. -- The only way tcsh "rocks" is when the rocks are attached to its feet in the deepest part of a very deep lake.
