i'm having problems getting the previously mentioned modem to work
correctly with debian 2.0/linux 2.0.34. it dials correctly, but it
echoes everything i type when i connect. like this:
username: rrllmmccggiill
password: supersecret (it shows the password)
the backspace/delete key also doesn't work properly with it. it deletes
text i've written, but it doesn't show this on the screen. it just shows
periods following the text.
the modem also won't stay connected when i start ppp. i'm using these
options is /etc/ppp/options:
defaultroute
/dev/ttyS1
57600
asyncmap 0
noauth
crtscts
lock
modem
debug
lcp-echo-interval 30
lcp-echo-failure 4
noipx
my other, slower modem works with these options, and it doesn't echo
login/password. does anyone know what's going on? thanks for listening.
