Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have tried to use /etc/ppp/options with the only line "lock". This will use all the default settings, which is used by redhat 5.0.
At a moment, I am trying to install some network packages to speed up the connection. I have tried to install squid, mtr, apache and so on. I don't know if they can help, but redhat has got all of these installed. I haven't tested my speed yet after installing all of these packages. If they don't, I will then go through each line in /etc/ppp/options. I will let you know when I discovered something. One other thing that I found is that It seemed that lynx's transfer rate is much faster than netscape. That's why I had a go on installing the package squid. Also, Redhat has got a RPM called caching-nameserver. Do we have one in debian?? Thanks in advance! Regards, Shao.
