Well, I haven't had much joy with apt. It works fine, unfortunately, I can't find a decent http server to connect to. (I can't use ftp because I'm behind a firewall and have to proxy). I've tried a couple from the mirror sites listing, but they seem to have problems finding packages. Can anyone recommend an http debian mirror?
