XEmacs shell-trash

Hi,

I encounter problems with XEmacs when using a shell within XEmacs. My linux
is configured for german (also X).

When I do an ls with the xemacs-shell, I get a lot of jam in braces
[~sdklgja] ...

Any ideas ?

Please help.
