Or you could grab it out of the registry if you are up to that daunting behemouth... it's in: (usually... the number on the end may differ.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Modem\0000 In there, there should be heaps of info on your modem.. there is a key "init" which is the init string you'll be after.
