I've just installed Debian 2.0 on a Compaq Proliant. Everything seems to be in order, except for the fact that every time the system is booted, I get the screen displaying "This is the Debian Rescue disk..." followed by the "boot:" prompt.
This screen comes up despite the fact that I am booting directly from the hard disk. If I type "linux root=/dev/sda1", the system comes up fine. How do I get the system to boot this way automatically? I'm sure this must be simple, but I've tried checking the FAQ and DejaNews with no success. Thanks, -- Chris
