As I like to tell people, there is a difference between stupidity and ignorance. Ignorant is a lack of knowledge, stupidity is an inability to gain knowledge.
Now for ps/2 support. The proper file is /dev/psaux ( pc auxillary port). You also need kernel support for ps/2 (aux). Link dev/mouse to dev/psaux and ensure you have kernel support. Change the link back to tty?? and you have serial support. X does not care.
