John, There is a program called "PLIP.EXE" freely available from Crynwr (http://www.crynwr.com). It is a packet driver designed to run under DOS and sends packets from the parallel port to WINSOCK.DLL.
I am in the process of setting it up on my Win95 box, but have not completed it yet. I would be interested to hear about your progress. Please feel to email me directly or via this list.
